Full groom
Starting with a full body check and assessing condition of coat so that any problem areas can be discussed with you. Your dog will receive two specialist shampoos and a condition. If your dog requires any medicated or prescriptive shampoos I am happy to use as directed and provided by you.
High velocity drying to help remove loose hair from the coat followed by a gentle finishing dryer to enable the coat to be completely brushed out and give volume to the coat. Full styling of coat by clipping, scissoring to breed standard or own personal request. Paw, pad and nail trim, sanitary area trimmed, ears cleaned, trimmed and plucked if necessary. Finishing with a spray of professional cologne to make your dog smell especially gorgeous!

Puppies
It is very important to get your puppy used to being handled and groomed from a young age, as early as 10-12 weeks old (a week after their second vaccinations). I appreciate every puppy is different and will require different levels of familiarisation to be comfortable with the feel, smell and noises of the grooming process. It may take a few visits to get them used to the environment and to me.
Initial appointments will include a gentle bath with baby fresh shampoo, brush and dry and of course lots of cuddles and reassurance. Finishing with a bow and spray of professional cologne to make your puppy smell especially gorgeous and even more cuddly!

De-matting
Occasionaly I may receive a dog in a very matted condition. Whilst the owner may think the dog is fine the mats are causing discomfort, pain and suffering. It is my policy to shave the whole coat using electric clippers with a close blade. To de-matt would cause the dog considerable stress and discomfort. Shaving the coat is more gentle. Mats left in a coat only grow tighter and may strangle the skin.
Removing heavily matted coats includes the risk of nicks, cuts or abrasions due to warts, moles or skin folds trapped in the mats. Heavy matting can also trap moisture near the pets skin allowing mould, fungus or bacteria to grow, causing skin irritations that existed prior to the grooming process. A severely matted coat can cause many conditions. Once the coat is removed, the skin can be red due to the lack of air circulation and dirt that has accumulated underneath. Occasionally there are sores or infection, this may need veterinary treatment as dogs tend to scratch and this can cause broken skin.
If you are at all concerned or in doubt, please speak to your vet.
